The quota system will be revoked, said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in a question-answer session on the parliament today.

Responding to a supplementary question of MP Jahangir Kabir Nanak, the Prime Minister made the decision.

The Prime Minister said Such kind of movement will happen again and again if there is a quota system. We can provide jobs in other ways to those who are disabled or small ethnic groups.

She said, When talking about reform … and a few days later another team will come and say they want reforms again. If the quota system is here then question about reform And if no quota there is no problem with the reform. So, there is no need to have a quota system in place. And if needed, then I have said that we have cabinet secretary, there are committees, concerned people will work with them.


Last some days, it was seen, the streets of the capital Dhaka were nearly stagnant in the student movement for demanding quota reforms in the government service.
