Mobile phone manufacturers keep flooding the market with new versions of smartphones on a regular basis. As the competition keeps getting tougher, some companies keep coming up with their own versions of high-spec budget smartphones. It is quite a shocking fact that compared to a OnePlus 7 Pro, you can get a phone with the same specification at half the price.
Now, such a promising phone within the budget might arise questions about the quality in mind. It is a given that the performance will not be the same yet it will not be any less than the you need. After all, a smartphone life-cycle depends entirely on how you use it.
Here are 3 smartphones that you can consider buying within the price range of Tk20,000-Tk25,000;
Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro
The Redmi series of Xiaomi has undoubtly been able to raise a tough competition in Bangladesh’s market. Starting from average smartphones to high-spec ones, this brand has been able to fulfil the demand of users and that too, at an affordable price.
The Redmi Note 8 Pro is equipped with MediaTek’s Helio G90T chipset; a processor capable of providing better user experience if compared to the Snapdragon 730G. In terms of CPU, RAM, and GPU speed, the Helio G90T wins race to deliver better performance against the Snapdragon 730G.
This smartphone comes with a quad-camera setup in the rear; 64MP ultra HD wide main camera, 8MP ultra wide-angle lens with a 120-degree field-of-view, 2MP macro lens, and 2MP depth sensor. It has a 20MP wide front camera placed in a top-centre notch cutout on the display.
Redmi Note 8 Pro features a 6.53-inch display (1080 x 2340 pixels) which is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back. It is powered by a 4500mAh battery that supports 18W fast-charging. It can be charged from 0 – 100 percent in two hours and can be used up to 10 hours even in gaming mode.
It comes in two variants; 6/64GB and 6/128GB and unfortunately, only the 6/64GB can be purchase within the price range.
Samsung Galaxy M40
The veteran mobile phone manufacturer – Samsung launched its line of budget smartphones – M series in February 2019. Since then, the M series has been coming up with enhanced models on a regular basis and for now, the Samsung Galaxy M40 could be your next budget smartphone if your prefer quality over quantity.
If you are looking for an ideal smartphone for casual use, the Galaxy M40 can satisfy your needs. It is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor; a chipset with a lower CPU speed if compared to MediaTek’s Helio but a 45MHz faster GPU clock speed delivers better quality display.
It comes with a triple-camera setup in the rear; 32MP wide main camera, 8MP ultra wide-angle lens, and 5MP depth sensor. It has a 16MP wide front camera placed in a top-left notch cutout on the display.
The Galaxy M40 sports a 6.3-inch display (1080 x 2340 pixels) which is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the front. It is powered by a 3500mAh battery that supports 15W fast-charging.
There is only one variant available for this model – 6/128GB and it comes in two colours; seawater blue and midnight blue.
Oppo emerged in the Bangladeshi market and gained recognition with its mid-ranged models of smartphones. Its over flooded promotional activities have been able to attract many users with time. It is also known for its Colour OS which comes with an user interface that is quite similar to Apple’s iOS.
Within the price range of Tk25,000, the Oppo F15 might be a good option to go for if you are willing to try out something new. Even though the official price of Oppo F15 is set for Tk26,990, you can purchase the unofficial one for Tk23,800.
The smartphone comes with MediaTek’s Helio P70 processor which has a faster CPU speed and GPU clock speed compared to Redmi Note 8 Pro’s Helio G90T chipset.

Oppo 15 brings forth a 6.4-inches AMOLED display (1080 x 2340 pixels) which is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front. Its 4025 mAh battery can be fast-charged at 20W and according to the company, it can be charged from 0-100 percent in one hour.
There is only one variant available for this model – 8/128GB and it comes in two colours; lightening black and unicorn white.
