The Trump Administration has greeted the Bengali people around the world on the occasion of celebrating Pahela Boishakh on the first day of Bangla New Year.
“On behalf of President Trump and the American people, I wish Bengalis everywhere a joyous new year”, Acting Secretary of State John Sullivan said in a statement issued in Washington on Thursday, Reports BSS.
In the statement, he said that in the coming years of New Year the United States government and people are celebrating the important day with the Bangalees in Bangladesh, India and around the world.
He said that the first Bengali language is a great opportunity for Bengali language as a mother tongue. Through this, they celebrate their rich history and culture at the grand mansions, festivals and celebration festivals.
He said Pahela Boishakh was an opportunity for those who speak Bangla as a mother tongue to celebrate their rich history and culture with beautiful parades, fairs and dances.
“Here in the United States, we take this opportunity to thank the Bangladeshi American community for its outstanding contributions to our nation, our economy and our culture. We join all of you in looking toward a bright future, and wish you the best in the year to come,” Sullivan said in the statement.
