Sridevi: Bollywood superstar dies In Dubai at 54 of Cardiac Arrest

Bollywood’s renowned actress Sridevi has stopped breathing due to heart failure. At the time of her death, she was 54 years old.

This popular actress died on Saturday (February 24th),  in a hospital in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, where she was attending a wedding ceremony.

In 1967, Shree Devi started filming as a child artist. She debuted as a lead actress in a Bollywood film in 1978, soon becoming one of India’s biggest film stars.

After this she worked in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada movies in addition to Hindi cinema.

Sridevi, considered to be the first female superstar in Hindi cinema, got married in 1996 to film producer Boney Kapoor. They have two daughters.

Sridevi has received huge praise for acting in a large number of films including Mawali, Mr India, Chandni, Tohphas.

In 2013, the Indian government awarded her the Padma Shri – the fourth highest civilian honour.
